
At college YJ began selling bootlegged Mixtapes as well as freestyling in public cyphers and after battling two signed Hip-Hop artists Wayne & Calvin, he impressed them so much that they invited him with them to 'Wordplay Studios' in Tottenham and introduced him to fellow group members TK & Kammir who taught YJ about recording and gave him his nickname ‘Yung’ (being significantly younger than the rest of the crew).ĭuring this time YJ also exchanged diss records with local artist Foreign Kid which led to him later changing his name to Supa Kid. Karac and Yung Jared started out by remixing classic Hip-Hop records for rap forums, taking the instrumentals and adding their own lyrics, they were also well known for memorising rap verses and reciting them for their school friends. Still at a very young age, Jared use to put together Hip-Hop Mixtapes on his parents’ computer for friends and family, mainly his cousins. A young Yung Jared then soaked up all of the Hip-Hop that he possibly could skipping through his Mum's 'Now That's What I Call Music' compilation CD's picking out the Hip-Hop records. YJ formerly known as Yung Jared Tha Juvenile discovered his affinity with Hip-Hop in '96 aged just 6 years old, after hearing the song 'Hit 'Em High' from the Space Jam Soundtrack featuring B-Real, Coolio, Method Man, LL Cool J & Busta Rhymes.
